The Whirlpool Ironman 70.3 Steelhead Triathlon is a qualifying race for the 2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championship Triathlon in Clearwater, Florida, and 50 slots will be awarded to the top finishers for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. The Whirlpool Ironman 70.3 Steelhead Triathlon will be the only race in the Great Lakes region that will award slots to the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. The 2010 Whirlpool Ironman 70.3 Steelhead Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.
